Magic Dirt (Australia)

Magic Dirt are a formidable female-fronted alternative rock band who first came to be after forming from Geelong VIC back in 1991.

Magic Dirt’s current band line-up does consist of three original & early founding members — the dynamic Adalita Srsen (Vocals/Guitars), drummer Adam Robertson and Steve Patrick (Bass).  Guitar player Raúl Sánchez joined the group fold in 1997.

They remain a popular attraction – despite a hiatus (2010-2018) following the death of original member Steve Turner.  Presently they are and remain regarded as one of Australia’s most influential and enduring rock acts.  Their “Aussie typical” form of straight-on guitar high energy live shows have maintained their rather legendary status within and across their home country.

Adalita Srsen – Magic Dirt

The band is performance-paced by Adalita Srsen, primary song writer and a keen advocate for animal rights and vegan, who is also an accomplished solo artist.

Known simply as “Adalita”, she has three full length albums to her credit – self titled Adalita (2011), All Day Venus (2013) and Inland (2022).

Magic Dirt’s impressive catalogue of early releases includes some that were very critically acclaimed at the time: Life Was Better (1994), Friends in Danger (1996), What Are Rock Stars Doing Today (2000), Tough Love (2003) & Snow White (2005) — released on independent labels Au Go Go Records and Shock Records.

Together they have received nine ARIA Music Award nominations within their career.
