During the 2023 edition of Australia’s very notable Alt-music festival Springloaded (held @Sandstone Point Hotel) in Queensland – we did have the pleasure of witnessing Screamfeeder for the 2nd time live in concert.
The band (who are from Brisbane) and which first formed back in 1991 is spearheaded by lead vocalist and primary song writer Tim Steward. It also features Kellie Lloyd (Bass), Derek Mudge (Guitar) and Phil Usher (Drummer).
While their claim to fame may be quality comparisons to legendary alternative acts like Husker Du & The Replacements — we would argue that their sound and influences should also include bands like The Pixies and Sonic Youth on that list – all in a very good way.
At Springloaded, Screamfeeder were the opening act and their exciting set did set a very positive vibe and tone for the rest of the event’s activities for all of the bands that followed.
They played an interesting mix of songs ranging from within their very extensive and impressive independent background catalogue – all of which is available from their official site: HERE
