In the world of Gothic Metal – Italy’s Lacuna Coil are both world renowned for their creativity and for also standing the test of time.
Since their formation back in 1994 and after two name changes (from Sleep of Right and then Ethereal) the group has an impressive total of nine studio albums to their credit.
The band’s signature melodic but heavy sound is unique while showcasing an ever-duelling contrast of two lead vocals from both female and male singers Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro (below photo).
This world hard touring band also includes Marco Coti Zelati (bass and keyboards), Diego Cavalotti (Guitars) and Richard Meiz (Drummer).
Together they have amassed some impressive recognition with nominations over the years including for MTV Europe Awards. They won the 2012 Metal Female Voices Fest Award for the Best Album, the 2016 Metal Hammer Award for the Best International Band, and the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best Live Act.
Lacuna Coil have sold well over three million albums worldwide so far dating back from 1999’s – bookended by their debut “In a Reverie” and up to their most recent “Black Anima” (2019).
